Everton scoop up John Stones

Everton refused to pay 20 million pounds for Alvaro Negredo of Sevilla, signing instead the 19 year old John Stones of Barnsely for a five year contract.  COYB!

Everton 2, West Brom 1

Thanks to a vicious strike from Baines, followed by a successful penalty kick from the lethal left-wingback, Everton managed to get three points from the game at Goodison Park against West Bromwich Albion.  A consolation from West Brom couldn't quite keep the game within their reach, thanks to Leighton Baine's brace.
Everton are considering a 9 million pound transfer day deadline deal for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo.  Hope it works out!  COYB!

Everton vs West Bromwich Albion...and Leroy Fer?

Everton will play West Bromwich Albion today.  Everton is also prepared to pull out of the 8.6 million pound deal for FC Twente midfielder Leroy Fer.  The 23 year old midfielder would greatly bolster the Toffee's squad, but a medical scan revealed a problem with the Dutch International's knee.  Everton are attempting to renegotiate the deal.  Hopefully, Twente and the Blues will come to a satisfactory agreement....COYB!

Everton 0-0 Southampton

Everton played the former Championship club Southampton Monday, with a rather disappointing result.  Most of the Blue's fans anticipated a win, however, the actual performance saw a less than confidence Nikica Jelavic leave the field for Kevin Mirallas.  The Belgium striker and Greek Super League top scorer in the 2011-2012 season threatened the goal several times, and almost scored with a vicious volley attempt.  Victor Anichebe tested Boruc on more than one occasion, while Tim Howard did well to keep Rickie Lambert from scoring.
While it was unexpected, the draw does have several good points.....Kevin Mirallas may very well be back in action, which can mean the difference between the Champion's League and the Europa League.  Victor Anichebe may very well start next game as well, in place of the Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic.  COYB!

Transfer Rumors

Rumors are floating around concerning Everton's potential purchase of a 10 million pound French Midfielder.  Stay tuned for more updates!

Everton Vs. Southampton Preview

Everton will play Southampton Saints Sunday.  Southampton are flying high after coming back to draw Chelsea 2-2 after going down 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Ba and Eden Hazard.  Everton are still chasing fourth place, and Champion's League qualifications.  Sunday should bring us three points....My bet?  Everton 2-0 Southampton, goals from Fellaini and Jelavic.  COYB!

Unambitious Swansea

Everton tied 0-0 against the Welsh club Swansea.  The thoroughly unambitious club crowded in the defensive players, rarely attacking, relying on occasionally attacks from players such as Michu.  Everton dominated possession, shots, and nearly every other stat, but were unable to break Swansea's defensive shield.  The unsatisfying game ended in a goalless draw, but at least we gained a point!  COYB!

Everton Thrashes Cheltenham

A thrilling win!  The evil side of Merseyside, Liverpool, barely scraped by with a 2-1 win over Mansfield, whilst Everton breezed past Cheltenham 5-1.  Nikica Jelavic poked in the first, followed by a Leighton Baines penalty.  Leon Osman scored the third, after which Cheltenham scored.  Seamus Coleman scored with a lofted shot before Fellaini put in the fifth.
This game has me excited!  Nikica Jelavic has scored again!  While some might say he's had a dip in form from last year, he constantly threatens the opposition's goal.  He provided an assist for Victor Anichebe not long ago, and was unlucky not to score after striking the woodwork twice when playing Chelsea.  But he's back!  Hopefully this goal against Cheltenham will mark a loonnngg string of goals from the Croatian Hitman!  COYB!

Fellaini Rules Out Early Everton Exit

In an interview, Fellaini ruled out an early Everton exit, claiming he would stay until the end of his contract, 2016, if that was what the club wanted.  I know that's what I want!  The Belgium was able to play against Newcastle United after serving his 3 match sentence.  During the game, he almost scored, and once again provided a solid play-making performance.  COYB!

Everton 2, Newcastle 1

What a marvelous game!  Newcastle took the lead early in the first half through a Cisse goal, but Leighton Baines equalized later in the half with a thunderous free kick.  In the second half, Jelavic crossed the ball to Victor Anichebe, who pushed the ball past Krull for the winner.
Everton were helped by the return of Fellaini, while Newcastle will be diminished by the loss of Ba to Stamford Bridge this January.  Ba will be moving to Chelsea.
Victor Anichebe praised Leighton Baines as being the Premier League's best free kick taker.  And he may be right!  COYB!

Everton 1-Chelsea 2

A dynamic game, full of excitement!  The London club Chelsea were given a run for their money, but in the end, David Moye's men just couldn't get by with the win they deserved.
Attempting to compensate for the absence of Fellaini, Everton played a more attack oriented formation, with Nikica Jelavic and Victor Anichebe in front as strikers, Leon Osman, Thomas Hitzlsperger, Steven Naismith, and Steven Pienaar in the midfield.
Steven Pienaar fired home in the second minute, drilling a low ball past Cech.  A Nikica Jelavic free kick hit the post with the stranded Cech watching in horror.  Three minutes before half-time, Frank Lampard headed home for the visitors, bringing the score level.
Nikica Jelavic's header bounced of the crossbar in the second half, before Frank Lampard exploited a mistake in the back to score again for Chelsea.  Everton just couldn't equalize before the final whistle.
Everton have been in fine form, winning two and losing one of their three games without Fellaini.  Champions League Qualifications are in sight!  COYB!
